BY JULIA BLAKE AND KAYLA ROSS

The latest food trend taking TikTok by storm has been two pasta recipes: the baked feta pasta and the Gigi Hadid pasta. Julia Blake and I decided to put both of these recipes to the test. They both are excellent tasting, easy dinner ideas to try.

The Gigi Hadid pasta recipe started on Gigi Hadid’s Instagram stories, but then several TikTok users tried it for themselves and documented the process through the app’s 60 second video feature.

To make the Gigi Hadid pasta, these are the necessary ingredients:

  • ¼ shallot yellow onion
  • Clove of fresh garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • ½ cup cream
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ tsp paprika (optional)
  • ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese or italian cheese blend
  • Box of penne noodles
  • ¼ cup water saved from boiling pasta

Step one: Heat olive oil over low to medium heat. Add in onion and garlic, allowing the onions to carmelize a little bit.

Step two: Cook the pasta as directed on the box.

Step three: Thoroughly combine the tomato paste in the pan with the combination from step one.

Step four: Add in the cream, red pepper flakes, paprika, and salt and pepper.

Step five: Add the noodles, saved water, and cheese.

Step six: Top with a sprinkle of cheese, serve, and enjoy!

Julia Blake tried out the TikTok viral baked feta recipe. For the baked feta pasta recipe, these are the necessary ingredients:

  • Box of noodles
  • Olive oil
  • Container of Cherub tomatoes
  • Block of feta
  • 2 tbsp fresh garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • Basil
  • ½ cup water saved from boiling pasta

Step one: Mince 2tbsp of garlic.

Step two: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Step three: Combine tomatoes, olive oil (about ½ cup), garlic, and the block of feta in a pan. The block of feta should be in the middle. Drizzle a little olive oil and a pinch of basil on top of the block of feta.

Step four: Bake for 30 minutes.

Step five: Boil the pasta, reserving ½ cup of boiled water.

Step six: Add the pasta, water, and salt and pepper to the pan and stir.

Step seven: Serve and enjoy!

Julia and I thoroughly enjoyed both of these recipes. They are easy to prepare, very tasty, and can both serve 6-8 people.
