Teachers on Tour is a social media series started by three teachers where they visit different ice cream shops to rate the ice cream, ambiance and environment.
They post the series on Instagram and TikTok under the username “TonT_625.” As of February 2026, they have gained around 350 followers on Instagram and around 150 on TikTok since the start of their series.
“It started because on our professional development days, when we get an actual lunch break,” said Krista Jones, a second-grade teacher at Valley view Elementary School. “We started going to Skoops in Barberton for our lunch break… we thought that it was funny, and then we were saying… over the summer, ‘Oh let’s go for a ride in the fun mobile. Come and pick us up, Joy.’ Then we started saying we should go get ice cream at many places, so it just evolved from the lunchroom.”
Kelly Osterhouse and Joy Love team up with Krista Jones to run the social media account. All three of them are second-grade teachers at Valley View Elementary and have been teaching for more than 20 years.

They started posting in June last year and the three teachers posted on Tuesdays, sometimes with a guest. They would tease who the next mystery guest was the day before, with three clues about them.
“They have to be an educator, because we are teachers on tour,” said the three. “And they have to be comfortable with us taping, you know, videoing them and everything. We picked one of our guests because she was retiring. So we wanted to honor her with some ice cream.”
The teachers said they would pick the ice cream shops based on the comments or on what was best suited for the mystery guest. Some of the guests include Joe Snyder in episode eight, Jennifer Echols in episode seven and Courtney Stassinis in episode six.
“Well, we try to do some trendy things, like rapid-fire questions,” said Osterhouse. “We also know a little bit about the guests, so we try to bait them with silly questions so they can tell us things about themselves.”
Teachers on Tour give their guests custom stickers with their logo; they also give these stickers to the ice cream shops they visit. Sometimes the ice cream shops also give the teachers their own custom stickers.

During the school year, Teachers on Tour posts more videos filmed in school with their coworkers rather than at different ice cream shops, calling these episodes Teachers (not) on Tour. Sometimes videos show the teachers making and rating their own ice cream creations right at school.
“We were trying to keep it real, non-controversial too,” said Love. “We just wanted it to be light and fun and you know, not offensive at all.”
They also try to keep their videos on theme for specific holidays. For example, in one Teachers (not) on Tour video in November, their coworkers shared what they were thankful for. In the same video, the teachers had them pick between two pieces of paper with different options, without the coworkers knowing what was on those papers.
