The City of Wadsworth held its Candlelight Walk downtown, going from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21. The Candlelight Walk takes place annually and is open to all city residents. It provides an opportunity for businesses and residents alike to celebrate the holidays and come together in the process.
A large Christmas tree, located in the center of downtown Wadsworth, was adorned with lights and festive ornaments and was lit during the walk. The gazebo was decorated for the holidays, and businesses decorated their stores for the festive season. Hundreds of candles lined the sidewalks, which were lit throughout the night. Families were encouraged to take photos with the decorations.

“I like seeing all the decorations downtown, and I think it helps people to get in the holiday spirit,” said Wadsworth High School senior Michael Lance, who attended the event.
Downtown, several activities were available for families to participate in. A horse and carriage and train ride ran downtown for small children to go on. Some businesses, such as Valley Cafe, gave out drinks to children and adults passing by. Other stores provided food, games for children and introduced their new holiday decorations to sell for this holiday season.
According to Wadsworth High School junior Grace Sharp, she attended the event all night with her friends. She stated that she has gone for multiple years and plans to continue going, as she enjoys the community aspects of the event.
“I was there [for the Candlelight Walk], and it was really cool to see the community come together to support businesses in Wadsworth and celebrate Christmas together,” said Sharp.
