Country singer-songwriter Megan Moroney released her newest studio album on Feb. 20, 2026, titled “Cloud 9.” This is her third studio album since her debut in 2021.
The best song on the album is “Medicine.” The lyrics are some of Moroney’s most direct and cut throat in her discography, and the production fits the theme of the album so well, yet makes it stand out too.
“I really enjoyed the song ‘Stupid,’” said Sydney Greenlees, Wadsworth High School senior and Moroney fan. “It was just a cute, light hearted song.”
Moroney has slated the album to fit the color pink. She has said it is because the songs are confident and direct, yet also soft and heartening, and that is exactly how this album feels. Songs such as “6 Months Later,” “Change of Heart,” and “Wish I Didn’t” are very assertive, yet playful. Songs such as “Beautiful Things” and “Wedding Dress” are revealing and warm in their lyrics, with a softness to their openness.
“I love the album and my favorite color is pink so it makes it even better,” said Isabelle Martin, Wadsworth High School senior and a Moroney fan. “Her albums never disappoint so I did not expect anything less from this one.”
The collaboration with Kacey Musgraves, “Bells & Whistles” is another standout song from the album. Both Moroney’s and Musgraves’ voices fit so well together, with Moroney’s rasp and Musgraves’ velvety singing voice.
This album feels like it is the best representation of who Moroney is, yet it also feels like a shift from her previous work. The album is more authentic and more lyrical than her past two albums, with Moroney feeling more confident and unscathing about her thoughts and feelings. She put it all out, without any reservations, and it paid off well.
