Demi Lovato’s newest album release, “It’s Not That Deep,” has broken records and surprised critics with its nostalgic and optimistic beats, reminiscent of Lovato’s older music, such as “Cool for the Summer,” released in 2015. The new album reached over 2.4 million streams in its first week and continued to climb, ultimately being recognized as a certified 4x platinum album in the United States.
The First single released for “It’s Not That Deep” was the single “Fast,” released on Aug. 1, 2025. The song was announced on her social media account in late July.
Her music had been on pause for this year due to Lovato’s medical issues: Even before that, her music was decent, not amazing. Lovato’s new path in the music industry is set for her rise and comeback in pop music.

Sadie Swafford is a Freshman at Wadsworth High School who has listened to the whole album and thought it was amazing and unique compared to other new music being released.
“There’s a lot of soft-rock and dance-pop in Demi Lovato’s new album, which I enjoy because it reminds me of her old work. One of my favorite songs she released in the past was “Cool For the Summer, and I had it on replay for weeks,” Swafford said.
“My favorite song from Demi Lovato’s new album is “Kiss” because it reminds me of “Cool for the Summer” with the incredible vocals and clever pop-dance beat.”
Megan Perkins is a Sophomore also at Wadsworth High School who enjoyed Demi Lovato’s new album “It’s Not That Deep.
“I loved listening to the full extent of the album, and if I had to pick a favorite song of mine from the album, it would have to be “Fast,” Perkins said. “I’m a huge fan of Lovato’s music and I wish the best for her future music career. I’m so excited to keep streaming her new album and look forward to her new music.”
