WHS Celebrates Winter Formal in Style

Wadsworth High School celebrated its annual Winter Formal last Saturday March, 2,  2024. The theme of the dance was “A Bridge to Paris” and tickets cost twenty dollars. Students enjoyed music and photos at Wadsworth High School from 8pm to 10:30 pm.

Avery Nicholson, Staff Writer
Avery Nicholson is a senior and has been on The Bruin staff for one year as a staff writer. Avery plays volleyball for the high school and is in the STNA compact program at Barberton High School. She is a member of the student council, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the National Honor Society. After High School, Avery will be attending Lock Haven University to play volleyball and study criminal justice. She spends her time outside of school working at Liberty Residence Assisted Living, coaching youth volleyball at the YMCA, playing Junior Olympic volleyball for Cleveland Volleyball Company, and spending time with her friends.

Emma Lynn is the Social Media Editor for the Bruin. This is her first year on staff and her favorite part is getting to be with her friends and learn more about the community. This year she is excited to design cool pages and write stories about different interesting people and things going on in her town. Her favorite story she has written was 'World Class: Wadsworth Welcomes Exchange Students' because she loved getting to meet new students and learn about different cultures. Outside of the newspaper, Emma is also a varsity cheerleader and a part of the high school lacrosse team.

Grace Barrett, Entertainment Editor
Grace Barrett is the Entertainment Editor for the Bruin and has been on the staff for two years. Her favorite departments to write in are Features and In-depth, and the articles she is most proud of include her news story about the shooting at MSU, her article about the Grizzly Academy, as well as any article that covers a member of the community outside of the Wadsworth City School District. Her favorite parts about being in the Bruin are getting to interact with people from around the country, and designing layouts for her in-print pages.

Reagan Riggenbach, Staff Writer
Reagan Riggenbach is a first-year staff writer for the Bruin, she is also a Huddle leader, Peer mentor, and on the girl's lacrosse team. Riggenbach is a junior at Wadsworth High School and is excited about all the interesting and fun issues she will be reporting on. Riggenbach's favorite genre to write about is entertainment because she feels it's the most creative and exciting. So far Riggenbach's favorite part of the Bruin is meeting new people and being able to keep others up to date with news. She is looking forward to the years to come being on the Bruin, and all the things she will experience with her time on the Bruin.
Sydney Blake
Sydney Blake, Sports Editor
Sydney Blake is a senior and has been on the Bruin staff for two years. This year, she is Sports Editor. She plays varsity soccer for the high school. She is a part of various clubs and activities at WHS, like being an active member of the National Honors Society, teaching 4th graders the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and peer pressure with the HUDDLE program, and being a Peer Mentor for the freshmen class. After high school, she plans to attend college to study biochemistry and create a future for herself in the medical field. She is a huge Taylor Swift fan and loves going to country concerts in the summer.
