Wadsworth High School’s bowling team has carried a season of competition and scores, with standout athletes on both the girls’ and boys’ teams for the 2025-2026 season. Multiple records were shattered this year, along with new victories for the teams.
Highlights for the girls include the second-year Suburban League championship title, with an overall undefeated season record of 13-0.
Varsity for the girls placed second at districts and, by doing so, earned a spot to compete this season at states for their second year in a row. Hayden Eagon-Mohlmaster, one of the stronger players on the boys’ varsity team, joined the girls competing at states this year.
Records broke this season, with the girls also setting a new single-game five-person record of 1003. Not only that, but a new match pin record was also set with a score of 2,337.
“The season went really well, we were undefeated and that was really exciting,” said Morgan Shaeffer, senior girls’ varsity bowling member.
Boys also had a season of successes, winning the Suburban League title back to back again as well, scoring a total pin record of 4,311. They finished with an overall season record of 13-0.
Broken records followed throughout the boys’ season as well. The varsity team broke its total pin record twice this season, with 2,893 pins. The high series record was also crushed with a score of 2,842.
“Along the way we have won countless tournaments, and if I’m not wrong, at every tournament both teams have made it to the top eight, which is known as a cut, but that’s such an achievement,” said Hayden Eagon-Mohlmaster, junior boys’ varsity bowling member. “With these tournaments came countless memories that all of us will cherish for a long time.”
Individually, junior Aubrey Masuda was crowned the girls’ individual title with a 685 series (268-214-203) at Suburban League. Boys received a third-place position from Nate Weyand (725, 225-256-244), a fourth-place from Hayden Eagon-Mohlmaster (705, 226-233-246), and 11th place from Thor Nagel (649, 205-211-233) at Suburban as well.
Both, the girls’ and boys’ varsity teams made it to districts this year, with the girls and Eagon-Mohlmaster paving their way through sectionals. A notable moment is when Eagon-Mohlmaster placed second out of roughly 140 other bowlers in the state tournament.
