The Bruin has recently been receiving large packages from the artist Benson Boone. Benson Boone is a relatively new artist trying to promote his music. One way he is promoting his music is by sending schools merchandise to promote his songs, and most recently his new album “Fireworks & Rollerblades”. So far The Bruin has received two packages from Boone, the first one promoting his pre-made songs, and the second one promoting his album.
The Bruin was one of the student newspapers that received this merchandise. The package contained posters, bookmarks, and calendars. When The Bruin received these packages, the staff stampeded to look and grab as much merchandise as they could, the excitement through The Bruin was booming.
“I thought it was super cool when we got mail from him because I knew who he was and that he wasn’t really a big artist yet,” said Brooke Baughman, a senior on the Bruin.
Receiving this package prompted the Bruin staff members to listen to Boone’s new album.
The new album is surprisingly good for a debut album because it consists of many already-known and popular songs such as “Beautiful Things” and “In The Stars”. This album is really heart-touching, the songs all tell a story which are the best type of songs. “In The Stars” is the best song in the album, it is a relatively sad song but has a great story. While some of the songs tell sad stories, most of them are love-based songs.
His album is not only a hit in The Bruin but also throughout the entire high school.
“I love his new album, I think it’s really good,” said Reagan Repp, a junior at Wadsworth High School.
When Boone decides to release more music or a new album and sends out merch, he knows The Bruin is one of his supporters and can’t wait to receive more merch with his face on it.
