Approximately 3500 school staff members across Medina County were vaccinated on Thursday, February 4. Staff members went to Medina High School to receive the Coronavirus vaccine from Drug Mart pharmacists throughout the day. 

All of Medina County’s school employees were offered the vaccine and were given a chance to sign up for three minute slots throughout the day. Due to the extensive amount of interest expressed by the staff, they were advised not to come in more than five minutes prior to their scheduled appointment.

Multiple teachers from Wadsworth High School expressed how easy the process was to get their vaccine. AJ Hanna, a Wadsworth High math teacher, received his vaccine within 8 minutes of arriving at the facility.

“I’m willing to get the vaccine because it will allow me to stay healthy for my family and my students,” said Angel Kusmits, a science teacher at Wadsworth High School.

Along with Kusmits, Brianne Pernod, an English teacher at Wadsworth, stated that she wanted to receive this vaccine in order to protect those around her.

“If you can make a small sacrifice for the greater good, I think that’s what being a quality human being is all about,” said Pernod.

Dr. Andrew Hill, Wadworth’s Superintendent, has promised to inform the community when and where the second dose of the vaccine will be administered as soon as the information is available.
