Grizzlies football winning streak ends in a two part game against Medina

The Wadsworth Grizzlies football team has been dominant in the regular season for two years now, winning 23 straight regular season games.That streak was snapped by the Medina Bees on Saturday afternoon, September 14.

The Grizzlies came out ready to play and their preparation showed in the first half. After a storm delay postponed the second half until Saturday at 3 P.M, the Grizzlies’ momentum was diminished. The loss of drive gave the Bees an opportunity to strike.

“It is never easy to have to start and finish a game on two different days, especially having all the momentum going into halftime,” said All-Ohio linebacker, Jack Grice, 12. “I felt that the team handled the delay very maturely. We all came in on Saturday morning with the mentality that it was game day, but at the end of the day, Medina is one very good football team and I am proud of the way the team handled itself this past weekend.”

With this loss comes a pressing question; how will the Grizzlies respond to this adversity? Will the team use this as the fuel for yet another dominant season, or will this be the start of a decline in the team’s dominance?

Running back Logan Seme, 11, had something to say about the team’s reaction to the loss,“We practiced harder than ever this week and are going to come out stronger than ever at 7 P.M. on Friday.”

Although the loss is a setback on their road to success, the Grizzlies are still looking to have yet another dominant season.
