CURTIS ASHCRAFT

Media Production, Communications
The new Media Production and Communications teacher, Curtis Ashcraft, is a first-year teacher. Ashcraft has spent the last thirteen years of his career working in media, communications, public relations and journalism, building up his credentials, leading to him now teaching about his passion.
Last year, Ashcraft was an adjunct professor at Capitol University, instructing students who were interested in going into multimedia sports broadcasting.
When he was offered the job in Wadsworth, he immediately reached out after having to move north from central Ohio.
“I was super excited because this is something I’ve always wanted to do,” Ashcraft said. “I’ve always wanted to teach broadcasting, production, anything like that.”
Ashcraft wants kids to know that his class will be a hands-on experience, where they will get to learn how to use the equipment and develop skills to utilize in real-world scenarios. Students can expect to get into programs like Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Premiere while also becoming familiar with camera and audio processes within the first few weeks.
“Bringing a positive energy, bringing an actual excitement, and bringing a level of experience, knowledge and passion to what we’re doing here, that’s what I’m trying to do,” Ashcraft said
PEYTON CHADDOCK

Algebra II, Geometry
The math department gained a new teacher, Peyton Chaddock, who will be teaching Geometry and Algebra II this school year. Chaddock has been teaching for four years, coming from a school in Illinois outside of Chicago.
Chaddock has always loved math and hopes to share that with her students. She says that she knows that many high schoolers do not like math, so she would like to make the subject as enjoyable as possible for her students so they can be successful not just in her class, but also in life.
“I love building relationships with students and just getting to know them,” Chaddock said. “I care about how they are doing in math, but I care about how they are doing more as a person.”
Chaddock says that she loves the encouraging environment of Wadsworth High School. When she was looking for new jobs, Wadsworth stuck out to her since she has a family member who lives in the city. Chaddock said she remembered them mentioning that they love the area and the sense of community.
“I’m just excited to be a part of the community and get to know everyone here,” Chaddock said. “Everyone’s been very supportive.”
Chaddock also has an interest in coaching softball, so that would be something she would like to pursue in the future.
TERRY STUART

Woods I, Woods II/III, Home & Auto Maintenance
Woods I, Woods II/III and Home & Auto Maintenance are now all taught by Terry Stuart, a sixth-year teacher who has spent his entire education career within the subjects of construction, building trades and technology.
Stuart has also been a coach for 18 years, lengthening his experience working with kids.
Stuart says that students can expect a fun and safe environment in his classroom. In the class, there are hands-on learning and skill-building exercises created to potentially help students in the future.
In the past, Stuart taught Construction Technology at Madison Comprehensive in Mansfield during 2020, and then he taught Home Remodeling at Pioneer, a career center in Shelby, for the past four years.
When Stuart saw that Wadsworth High School was looking for a new teacher in his area of expertise, he decided to reach out and apply since he knew some people from college who lived in Wadsworth. He says now that it was one of the best decisions he has ever made.
“It’s been an absolute dream. The students have been great, and the fellow staff have been so helpful and welcoming,” Stuart said. “I truly feel at home here.”
Stuart wants students to know that his door is always open for anyone who needs to talk, even if they just want to joke around.
