My name is Samantha Kai Horvat, I am a staff writer for the infamous Wadsworth High School Newspaper, The Bruin. I did competitive writing in a program called Power of the Pen both years in Middle School. I was largely successful with my writing and knew it was something I wished to pursue further. While I don’t particularly see myself going into journalism in the future, I do see myself publishing more pieces of literature on top of my already published works. This experience with the Bruin has taught me lessons I wouldn’t have been to acquire elsewhere. I found friendship and passion in something new and all of the memories and stories I have created have made it a dream. I love being able to create stories about the little and small things going on around me and be a trusted source for my community.
