It is no secret that lots of students are excited for summer as it grows nearer. Starting May 31, most Wadsworth students will be out for the summer and free to hang out with friends and family. There are plenty of opportunities for students to relax and unwind after the school year. Some students are excited for time with friends and family, summer trips, and other summer events.
As for Wadsworth, there are lots of events where the community can come together. For example, downtown Wadsworth celebrates with food, fireworks and much more for the 4th of July. Plus, places such as Dolce will have seasonal flavors for the 4th of July. First Friday also brings the Wadsworth community together via the events that can take place during them, like scavenger hunts.
Some students may be traveling outside of Wadsworth for the summer, and others are staying at home during the summer break.
“I’m excited to have a lot of time for myself,” said Zackary Woosnam, a Sophomore at WHS. He said that he’s happy to be able to hang out with friends without having to worry about school.
Winter Hall, also a Sophomore at WHS, said that she’s excited for a lot. She will have more time with her friends, her family, and she will have opportunities to travel.
“I can roller skate with my friends a lot more, go to Cedar Point, and I can also travel for family more frequently,” Hall said. “It’s a nice break from school, and I really don’t have to worry about anything. I’m also excited to go to Kalahari and Dallas.”
Lots of students may have similar plans for their summer, and some may have very different plans. While all students have different plans for the summer, Wadsworth gives people the opportunity to spend their summer in a fun, positive way.
