Wadsworth Community Radio Holds a Summer Fun Contest for 2025

The Wadsworth Community Radio, a nonprofit radio station in Wadsworth, OH, is celebrating its 10 year birthday on June 30, 2025. To recognize this, they are throwing a celebration with a Summer Fun Contest. The radio station says that this celebration is to bring joy and amusement to the community.

The fee to enter this contest is $10, via PayPal or credit card, which goes straight to supporting the community radio. By paying this fee, participants are not only entering to join the contest, but also helping the community of Wadsworth.

“Thank you for listening, thank you for your financial support, and thank you for believing in us. Cheers to 10 years,” said Tina Heiberg, the Wadsworth Community Radio co-host and contest organizer.

This contest will help the Wadsworth Community Radio by funding its nonprofit organization. This allows the radio to continue broadcasting for Wadsworth.

“This contest sounds like fun, and I am so excited to join it,” said Mady Mahon, a junior at Wadsworth High School and a participant in the Summer Fun Contest.

The prizes that are available to win are a Step2 water table, an indoor pizza oven, a Yeti hopper cooler and travel Crock Pot, an electric scooter and a Nintendo Switch. There are also five mystery prizes that will be up for grabs.

“I am so excited to participate in this contest,” said Garrett Preusser, a senior at Wadsworth High School and contest participant. “I really want to win the indoor pizza oven.”

The winners will be announced on June 20, 2025. Whatever order the names are drawn is the order in which the participants will be able to choose their prizes.

Larkin Tackett is a junior at Wadsworth High School, and she has been on the Bruin staff for over two years. In her freshman year, she took the Newspaper/Yearbook I class, and by April, she was accepted to the staff. In her sophomore year, she was a staff writer, involved in each in-print issue, social media, and website. In her junior year, she is the In-Depth editor, involved in the in-print, online, and social media, while helping the staff writers and other editors write stories efficiently. For her senior year, she hopes that she will become the in-print editor-in-chief, hopefully with her friend Aaliyah as a co-chief and Noah as the online and social media editor-in-chief. Larkin’s favorite part of The Bruin is hanging out with the other staff and educating the public about new news. She loves collaborating with students with differing ideas from her own.
