REVIEW BY OLIVIA PORPORA
Everyone has been talking about the latest horror film, It. This movie has the perfect amount of scary and creepy for everyone. It hit the screens on September 8, 2017 and has produced over $200 million in revenue. It is based off of Stephen King’s novel and the film is also based off of the original movie.
Based on what people were telling me, and how well the movie was doing, I expected more from the movie. The movie as a whole was just not as scary as I thought it would be.
It takes place in Derry, Maine and every twenty years Pennywise, the clown, comes to the town and takes the children. He keeps the children, hidden in the sewer pipes underneath the town.
“The movie was so much better than the original and I really enjoyed every part of it,” Danielle Cheff,10.
The main plot of the movie was to stop the children from their town from going missing and to recover Georgie (Georgie is a young boy in the movie who gets taken by Pennywise.) All of the actors in the film did a phenomenal job and the special effects were outstanding. But the movie fell short when it came to making me jump out of my seat. It just wasn’t that scary.
“At the start of the movie when the clown bites off Georgies arm, I was not expecting that at all. I loved the movie so much and I recommend it to everyone who likes scary movies.” Said Sam Arnold, 9.
If you are looking for an eerie and creepy movie than I recommend It. But if you want the horrifying and bloodcurdling scary type of movie, than you may need to look elsewhere.
