Deftones, along with Fleshwater and Mars Volta as special guests, went on a North American tour, starting on February 25 in Oregon and finishing on April 8 in Massachusetts. On March 29, Deftones, Fleshwater and Mars Volta came to Ohio, playing in the Columbus Nationwide Arena. Roughly 19,000 tickets were sold for Columbus alone, including those purchased for the pit view of the show. Deftones is a popular band, considered part of the Nu-Metal genre, with their first album, Adrenaline, being from 1995.

“The experience was overall really fun, but the amount of people who didn’t know a single lyric in a majority of the songs was kind of crazy,” said James Gilmore, a Wadsworth High School student who attended the concert. “The set was very entertaining, and Chino can perform in a very dynamic way. The sets before were less entertaining, but their music was good.”

Gilmore also talked about Fleshwater, saying that it was very nice to see them live. He mentioned how calming Mars Volta was, which was a sharp contrast to the metal genre.
Deftones played songs such as Cherry Waves, 7 Words, Sextape, Hole in the Earth, Rosemary and many other songs. They utilized colored lights and backgrounds for their songs, often displaying Chino, the main singer, as well as the other band members and the audience.
“My favorite song that was played was a tie between Swerve City and Hole in the Earth,” Gilmore said.
Nyla Patterson also went on the Ohio Deftones tour and mentioned her experience with Deftones.
“Experiencing a live concert tends to create memories that people never forget,” Patterson said. “During the North American Deftones Tour 2025, I encountered a unique atmosphere alongside unforgettable

performances, making it no exception to memorable live concert experiences. The experience of live music deeply affects personal memories through its creation of powerful sensory experiences.”
Patterson enjoyed how Chino interacted wi
th the audience, making the experience have a deep connection with her.
“The concert experience became a permanent part of attendees’ personal memories, including mine,” Patterson said.
The Deftones North American Tour had a significant effect on most of the audience, given that their music is connected with lots of people worldwide.
