The students of Wadsworth High School will perform the musical “Legally Blonde” at the Performing Arts Center from March 20 to March 22. The show tells the story of Elle Woods, who follows her love to Harvard Law School and discovers her true potential along the way.
Rehearsal has been in full swing since January, with the cast practicing five days a week under the guidance of music director Kalyn Davis, director Pam Csaky, choreographer JJ Jones, and assistant director Brian Luck. With a mix of singing, dancing and even live dogs on stage, the production promises a fun and unforgettable experience.

“It’s a fun show, and since it has a lot of female roles, it was a great fit for the many girls who auditioned,” Csaky said.
Beyond the cast, a dedicated crew has been working behind the scenes to bring the musical to life. From designing costumes to building the elaborate set, every detail has been carefully planned to create a great experience for the audience.“There are so many parts—acting, singing, dancing, costumes, the set—it takes a long time to bring everything together,” Csaky said.
The musical is very different from the movie. Besides the songs, it also includes some unique elements—like a real Chihuahua and bulldog on stage.
The cast and crew have worked hard to make this a great production.
“Everyone gets along well and supports each other,” Csaky said. “The ensemble plays a big part in the show, with lots of people on stage throughout the performance.”
Csaky hopes that the audience leaves with a smile on their face from the show and is impressed by the talents we have at WHS.
Sarah Ferguson will be the leading role of Elle Woods in this year’s musical.
“I was so excited and it was like a dream coming true,” Ferguson said. “I screamed and cried.”
To prepare for this big responsibility, Ferguson went through the script on her own time, dyed her hair blonde, and even used MTV to become more like Elle.
Ferguson’s favorite part of rehearsing was meeting the dogs and getting to learn how to train/work with them.
“I never had more than one line before. Going from ensemble to a lead role has really widened my acting skills,” Ferguson said.
