Lady Gaga released her sixth studio album, “MAYHEM,” on March 7, 2025. After dropping highly rated singles such as “Disease,” “Die With A Smile,” and “Abracadabra,” fans were excited for Gaga to drop the album. “MAYHEM” does not disappoint and, in my opinion, contains some of Gaga’s best work.
“‘MAYHEM’ is my favorite Gaga album right now,” said Michael Lance, a junior at Wadsworth High School and a fan of Gaga. “The first time I listened to it, I was blown away by how good it was.”
“MAYHEM” contains 14 tracks and two features. Gesaffelstein features on “Killah” and Bruno Mars features on “Die With A Smile.” Both artists were great, adding to their respective songs and making them even more fun to listen to.
The opening track, “Disease,” is one of my favorite Lady Gaga songs, and it really sets the tone of the album. “Disease” is upbeat and catchy and is immediately followed by two other great tracks, “Abracadabra” and “Garden Of Eden.” “Garden Of Eden” is my favorite song on the album, and it is reminiscent of her previous work, sounding like songs off of “ARTPOP” and “The Fame.”
All the remaining tracks are phenomenal, and it becomes increasingly clear as you listen that Gaga has returned to her pop artist roots. Some of my personal favorites include “Love Drug,” “How Bad Do U Want Me” and “Killah.” Despite the month-long wait, it was incredibly worth it to hear these amazing songs.
“Mayhem was amazing and was definitely worth the hype,” said junior Joseph Van Bawi Ceu. “All of the songs are amazing and I can’t get them out of my head.”
The only criticism that I have of “MAYHEM” is about the final song on the album, “Die With A Smile.” While this is a great song, I don’t believe it should have been on the album, as it doesn’t fit with the other tracks. I personally think it was only included because of its success, and the album could have definitely done without it. Regardless, it is still a wonderful song to listen to.
Overall, “MAYHEM” is an incredible album that showcases Gaga’s talent in many different ways. It is a phenomenal listen from start to finish and anyone who enjoys pop is sure to love “MAYHEM.”
