First Look: Inside Wadsworth’s New Intermediate Building Construction

The Board of Education and The Bruin recently got the opportunity to take a tour around the newly built intermediate school in December.
“Very exciting to see the progress [Hammond Construction] has made,” said Tim Beck, Board of Education member. “We [the board of education] were able to take a tour back in September, so a lot has been done, and I’m glad to hear they’re on track for opening the school in August 2025.”

Pictured above is the future gymnasium that will be on the main floor. The total complicity the gym can hold is about 800 people. There will also be lines for volleyball and pickle ball on the court. Photo by Reagan Hunt.

Reagan Hunt, Social Media and Business Manager

My name is Reagan Hunt, I am 18 years old and in my senior year at Wadsworth High School. I took newspaper and yearbook 1 my sophomore year and then took a break before joining The Bruin again for my senior year. I am the Social media editor and business manager. I contact local businesses around Wadsworth or neighboring towns to try and get them to purchase an advertisement space in our paper. I also make sure our social media platforms are updated daily and help to inform our viewers. I plan on furthering my education in college at either The University of Kentucky or Kent State University to get my Master in Science of Nursing. My end goal is to become a Pediatric Trauma Nurse Practitioner.

Hello, my name is Rylee Ward; I'm a sophomore at Wadsworth High School. I am a participant in choir and I'm also a part of the Bruin staff. In my free time I love to listen to music. I don't have a favorite subject, but if I had to choose it would be English. The Bruin staff has helped me tremendously build better communication skills and has also helped me become a better writer overall. I am so grateful to be a part of a wonderful staff and to have the opportunity to build so many relationships.

Awesome,Wadsworth Schools are impressive! I am glad I have a couple of my grandchildren attending Wadsworth school system. Wadsworth is and hopefully stays a safe place to live. Way to go Wadsworth residents! Wonderful City!

I notice a tremendous amount of steps. I go to everything I can go to for my great grandkids. Is there an elevator close by the steps for those of us who need it? Or a ramp to every level?
